What it calculates
The “AUDIT-C” calculator computes AUDIT-C score from 4 parameters: 1. how often do you drink alcohol? (0 = never, 1 = monthly or less, 2 = 2–4 times a month, 3 = 2–3 times a week, 4 = 4+ times a week), 2. drinks on a typical drinking day (0 = 1–2, 1 = 3–4, 2 = 5–6, 3 = 7–9, 4 = 10+), 3. how often 6+ drinks on one occasion? (0 = never, 1 = less than monthly, 2 = monthly, 3 = weekly, 4 = daily), female (1 = yes).
Used by professionals and patients to assess health metrics, dosages, and risks.
Example calculation
With parameters 1. How often do you drink alcohol? (0 = never, 1 = monthly or less, 2 = 2–4 times a month, 3 = 2–3 times a week, 4 = 4+ times a week) = 2, 2. Drinks on a typical drinking day (0 = 1–2, 1 = 3–4, 2 = 5–6, 3 = 7–9, 4 = 10+) = 1, 3. How often 6+ drinks on one occasion? (0 = never, 1 = less than monthly, 2 = monthly, 3 = weekly, 4 = daily) = 1, Female (1 = yes) = 0 the result is 4 (One drink ≈ 10 g of pure alcohol).
