This Cookie Policy explains which cookies and similar technologies billycalc.com uses, why, and how you can control them. It supplements our Privacy Policy.
1. What are cookies and local storage
Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser. Local storage (localStorage) is a similar browser mechanism that lets a website keep data on your device. Both can be strictly necessary for a website to work, or be used for analytics.
2. How consent works on billycalc
- On your first visit, a banner asks for your consent to analytics cookies. You can click "Accept" or "Reject" — both options are equally easy.
- Analytics cookies (Google Analytics 4 and Yandex Metrica, including Webvisor session replay) are set only after you click "Accept".
- If you click "Reject" or ignore the banner, analytics cookies stay off. Strictly necessary storage is used regardless of your choice.
- Your choice is saved in your browser's local storage for 6 months. After that, or if you clear your browser data, the banner will ask you again.
- You can change or withdraw your choice at any time via the "Cookie settings" link in the footer of every page. If you withdraw consent, we delete the analytics cookies set on billycalc.com in your browser.
- Until you click "Accept", neither Google Analytics nor Yandex Metrica is loaded, so no data is sent to Google or Yandex (see the Privacy Policy, section 3.3).
3. Categories
- Strictly necessary. Store your cookie choice and language, and protect the website against attacks (Cloudflare). They do not require consent.
- Analytics. Help us understand which calculators are used and where the website needs improvement. Used only with your consent.
- Advertising / marketing. billycalc does not use advertising cookies. If this ever changes, we will update this page and ask for your consent first.
4. Cookie and storage list
Lifetimes are given according to the providers' documentation and may change. Cloudflare sets its security cookies only when its protection features need them. Yandex Metrica may also keep similar technical values in local storage.

Cloudflare Web Analytics does not use cookies or local storage; it only counts visits in aggregate. Yandex may additionally use cookies on its own domains (for example, yandex.com) under its own privacy policy.
5. Webvisor session replay
If you accept analytics, Yandex Metrica's Webvisor records your interaction with pages — mouse movements, clicks, scrolling and the page content as displayed — and may also record text and numbers you type into fields, including calculator inputs, so that we can see where visitors get stuck. The fields of the contact form are excluded from recording. Calculations are still performed in your browser and are not sent to our server. If you do not want this, click "Reject".
6. Managing cookies in your browser
Besides the banner, you can delete or block cookies in your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary storage may cause the banner to reappear on every visit.
