More about: PASI

What it calculates

The β€œPASI” calculator computes PASI from 16 parameters: head: erythema (0–4), head: induration (0–4), head: desquamation (0–4), head: affected area (%), upper limbs: erythema (0–4), upper limbs: induration (0–4), upper limbs: desquamation (0–4), upper limbs: affected area (%), trunk: erythema (0–4), trunk: induration (0–4), trunk: desquamation (0–4), trunk: affected area (%), lower limbs: erythema (0–4), lower limbs: induration (0–4), lower limbs: desquamation (0–4), lower limbs: affected area (%).

Used by professionals and patients to assess health metrics, dosages, and risks.

Example calculation

With parameters Head: erythema (0–4) = 2, Head: induration (0–4) = 2, Head: desquamation (0–4) = 1, Head: affected area = 20 %, Upper limbs: erythema (0–4) = 2, Upper limbs: induration (0–4) = 2, Upper limbs: desquamation (0–4) = 2, Upper limbs: affected area = 15 %, Trunk: erythema (0–4) = 2, Trunk: induration (0–4) = 1, Trunk: desquamation (0–4) = 1, Trunk: affected area = 5 %, Lower limbs: erythema (0–4) = 3, Lower limbs: induration (0–4) = 3, Lower limbs: desquamation (0–4) = 2, Lower limbs: affected area = 35 % the result is 14.2 (Area score: 0%=0, <10%=1, 10–29=2, 30–49=3, 50–69=4, 70–89=5, β‰₯90=6).

FAQ

How is BMI calculated?
BMI = weight (kg) / height (m)Β². Example: 70 kg / (1.75 m)Β² = 22.9. The WHO normal range is 18.5–24.9; below that is underweight, 25–29.9 is overweight, and 30+ is obese.
Is BMI accurate for everyone?
No. BMI does not distinguish muscle from fat, so athletes may show a high BMI with low body fat. It is also less reliable for teenagers, pregnant people, older adults, and very tall or short individuals.
What are the BMI categories?
Underweight: below 18.5. Normal: 18.5–24.9. Overweight: 25–29.9. Obese class I: 30–34.9; class II: 35–39.9; class III: 40+.
What is a better measure than BMI?
Body fat percentage, waist-to-height ratio (aim for under 0.5), and waist circumference give a clearer picture of health than BMI alone.
